St Joseph's Out of School Club

The Out of School Club is open from 3.15pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday exclusively for the use of St Joseph's school pupils. If the school is open we will be open.

The club manager is Maggie Sparks and her deputy is Trica Pelos, both are well known to the children as they have worked in the school for a number of years. They are supported by a team of experienced staff, who work various hours depending on the number of children attending each session.

We are registered to take 22 children in any one session.

Children can be booked in on a regular basis each week or can be booked for casual places (subject to availability).

The club is open to all pupils in the school and there is a wide range of activities the children can access. Pool, table and board games, art and craft activities, role play, small world play, dressing up, play station games on our TV and PS2.

We also carry a good range of books, both fiction and non-fiction. We have a laptop which the children can use for home work or just for practicing their IT skills. We have use of the school playground for more physical games and the jungle gym in the fenced off area.

The club has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, but the usual standards of behaviour, consistent with school policy, are expected and are adhered to. It is an excellent environment in which the children have opportunities to build new friendships with other children of different age groups within the school.

A light meal and drinks are provided at the beginning of the first session, and for children accessing extra-curricular school activities when they arrive around 4.30 pm.

Prices are as follows:

• Session 1: 3.15pm to 4.30pm - £5.00
• Session 2: 4.30pm to 6.00pm - £3.50
• Both Sessions: 3.15pm to 6.00pm - £7.50

We are now based in the DeTrafford room in Our lady of Victories parish church rooms next door to the school.
