St Joseph’s is committed to providing children with the opportunity to take part in Forest School.
Forest school is an outdoor programme of activities delivered by trained practitioners within a natural environment and whatever the weather! It is an inspirational process that offers children opportunities to achieve, take risks, develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands on learning experiences in our woodland environment. We aim to nurture an understanding and respect for natural places where children experience nature at first hand through a series of achievable tasks.
At St Joseph’s, we believe that Forest School provides our children with experience and skills that can be transferable within the classroom. The children are taught to respect our world and to think about how we can look after our world around them.
We are at the very start of our Forest School journey and look forward to turning our wooded area into a stimulating environment for our children to thrive in and make memories. Within our development plans, we aim to plant trees to support our wildlife as well as reduce flooding in Market Harborough through the provision of a wetland as part of our Forest School.
