Welcome to Year 6!

We aim to provide children with a safe and stimulating learning environment that guides them to achieve their full potential. Our engaging classroom ensures that children are excited and inspired to learn in a very important year for your child.

We provide support for all children ensuring that they learn both academically and socially as individuals, to ensure they are thoroughly prepared as they take their next step into secondary school.

We teach three main curriculum topics in Year Six, these are:

1. MAAFA

2. Frozen Kingdom

3. Britain at War

The children take part in a class visit to the Warning Zone where they develop their understanding of staying safe online and out in the public. A five day cycling proficiency course is also provided to the Year Six children by Leicestershire County Council, promoting the importance of safety whilst out on the road.

We take the children on a residential trip where children experience a variety of activities focussed on teamwork and communication, allowing them to learn more about themselves outside of the classroom.

The Year Six children take the lead of our school’s end of year production alongside the Year Five children. Performing musicals such as Matilda and Beauty and The Beast in previous years.

We aim to provide our Year Six children with the knowledge and confidence that will allow them to succeed in their adult life.
